Carers NSW Carer Survey 2010

Dear Carer

Carers NSW invites you to take part in our survey for carers.

Carers NSW is an organisation for people who provide unpaid care and support for a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, drug and alcohol dependencies, terminal illness, chronic condition or who is frail.

With this survey we would like to get information about carers and their needs so that we can send recommendations to the NSW Government about how to best support carers. The information from this survey will be used to help inform our submissions to the NSW Government's budget for 2011-2012 and for next year's state election.

Please note that this survey is for carers who are over the age of 18. Any information or personal details that you give us in the survey are confidential and will not be shared with anyone. No person will be identified in any publication of results. Only the policy team at Carers NSW will see the data. We may anonymously quote some of your answers to support our arguments in policy documents or published material. Please let us know if you do not want your answers to be quoted in our policy documents or published material.

If you are not a member of Carers NSW, you can join for free. Please visit our website www.carersnsw.asn.au to fill in a membership form. As a member you will receive:

We hope that the survey gives you a chance to give feedback about services you use as a carer and a chance to tell Carers NSW about what your needs are. If you have any friends or someone in your family who is also a carer, please tell them about this survey.

Please contact the Carers NSW office if you have any questions or would like some more information about the survey. The office number is (02) 9280 4744; ask for Carers NSW Policy team. A copy of the Carers NSW Survey 2008 report is available from our website www.carersnsw.asn.au or if you call 1800 242 636 we can mail you a copy.

Thank you for taking part in this survey.

Yours sincerely
