PROGRAM AIMS

• To improve carers coping, knowledge and management skills
• To enhance carers wellbeing, resilience and relationships
• To improve professional and service responsiveness to the needs and circumstances of carers
• To enhance relationships between carers and mental health services
• To improve consumer outcomes through supporting families and carers
  
  Carers NSW delivers and facilitates carer participation in a suite of extensively evaluated carer education and training programs. Carers NSW supports the development of local teams of program facilitators.

INDIVIDUAL CARER SUPPORT SERVICES AND PEER SUPPORT
Carers NSW facilitates individual carer support and assists local carer mental health support groups by providing:

• Emotional support
• Information
• Advocacy
• Assistance with navigating the systems
• Assistance with the coordination of systemic carer participation
• Assistance with capacity building for support groups through facilitator support and training
