A chance for all of us to have our say!

Who Cares? The Ethics of Caring in a Good Society:
national conversation, national action

What ethical challenges might we as a society face to meet the changes in the needs of both the cared for and those who do the caring?

Join the on-line 'Who Cares?' National Conversation from 6 September to 31 October 2008 on www.ethics.org.au

Australians are talking about caring. More of us than ever before are looking after family members or friends who have a disability, chronic illness, mental illness or who are frail and aged. More and more people are needing care, but can families continue to be the main providers of care in Australia? Who do you think should care in a good society? What ethical challenges might we as a society face to meet the changes in the needs of both the cared for and those who do the caring?

We invite you and all of your family, friends and colleagues to participate in the on-line National Conversation about ethics and caring, starting 6 September on www.ethics.org.au

The conversation began with 50 focus groups talking about: What is a good society? What is caring? Who is responsible for caring? What does caring look like in a good society?

Bankers to birdwatchers, politicians to pensioners, teenagers to the elderly, carers and the carefree – all participated in the focus groups and shared their point of view. Now it is time for even more Australians to have their say. It’s a chance to talk about the kind of Australia they want.
